CONFIDENCE Matters!

Hebrews 10:35-36 (AMP)
35  Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.
36  For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.

We think people are born with such great confidence and certainty and it is simply not true.

Confidence is believing in yourself, feeling comfortable in your true-self—knowing you have worth.

Confidence helps us feel ready for life’s experiences.  When we are confident, we’re more likely to move forward with people and opportunities—not back away from them.  If things don’t work out at first, confidence helps us try again.

Practice Brings Confidence

Confidence is often considered a “soft skill.”  Experience shows that confidence can and should be learned and practiced. Most times we are not sure or comfortable in what we do, therefore, to become comfortable we must practice.

Developing skills always lead to more confidence.

In my experience, I found confidence required me to be vulnerable.  In leadership, I had to be confident enough to be wrong or vulnerable.  I could not always find excuses; I had to honestly admit my weakness and show that I was trying to improve; that brought an acceptance and an encouragement amongst my peers.   Confidence as a leader required me to let go—letting go of control and my image was the hardest part.  Letting go required me losing temporary control, knowing that my long-term vision was intact.

Remember

Self-confidence is an attitude about your skills and abilities. It means you accept and trust yourself and have a sense of control in your life. You know your strengths and weakness well, and have a positive view of yourself. You set realistic expectations and goals, communicate assertively, and can handle criticism.

Put GOD First and You Will Sore in Confidence!
