And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying…
God’s words to Abram in verse 1 may have been a veiled way of saying that he should stop trying to work things out in his own strength and let Almighty God work for him. Immediately afterwards, God renewed His covenant and change the patriarch’s name from Abram (exalted father) to Abraham (father of a multitude).
I say, these verses speak volumes to me.
- Stop trying to do everything in my strength—more times than I care to count, I have tried to help God bless me.
- I need to move out of the way and let God be God—when I move out of the way and allow God to have His way in my life; I find myself more at peace and my life a lot more stable and less chaotic.
- When I allow God to be God, He has always supplied my needs and more as well as multiplied my blessings.
Change (my life, my home, on my job, in ministry) only comes when I allow God to move. When God moves, you can rest assure that he multiplies everything in our life. When God blesses us, He don’t just bless us with what we ask for, he sees down the road and blesses us with the other things that are needed to maintain and increase His blessings in our lives.
In conclusion, when we allow God to be El Shaddai in our lives, our names do change:
From Victim to Victor
From Sinner to Saint
From Unrighteous to Righteous In Him
From Being Sick to Being Healed
From Being A Person with NO voice to A Child of God with a Voice!
I say let God Be God in Your Life, Watch Him Orchestrate ever situation and Event of your Life, and You and Your Blessings are Multiplied!
Continue to Be Blessed and Highly Favored In God!
